We would like to invite you to our Networking Event, taking place on Thursday December 8th, from 6pm – 9pm. As always, there will be a packed programme which will be of interest for all our supporters. The Networking Event will also include our Swansea Sanctuary Awards announcements and AGM.
The Sanctuary Awards allows groups to measure and celebrate achievement and impact. It is an award given by the City of Sanctuary movement to recognise genuine commitment to the three core sanctuary values:
- Learn about what it means to be seeking sanctuary; and be actively involved in awareness raising
- Embed, take positive action to make welcome and inclusion part of the values of your organisation or community, to support sanctuary seekers and refugees, and to include them in your activities
- Share your vision and achievements; let others know about the positive contribution refugees make to our society and the benefits of a welcoming culture to everyone
As part of our AGM, we are recruiting and nominating individuals to become part of our Management Committee, as various members are moving on due to other commitments. If you are a Member, please think about whether you would like to apply for or nominate an individual to join our committee. Further information and application forms are available upon request. The closing date for applications will be December 7th.
Refreshments will be available, and the Volcano Theatre has kindly offered to keep their Bar open for us too. Bus fares can be paid for by SCoS if necessary.
